Who: All Cub Scouts who are entering the 4th & 5th grade fall of 2019 (Webelos & AOL)

What: Webelos Woods is a mini-camp designed to give youth in the Webelos program the opportunity to spend some time at summer camp in preparation for becoming members of a troop . Scouts will participate in a variety of activities including cooking and a campfire program. Arrow of Light Webelos (5th grade) will get to go on a special creek hike. Youth will work on “Adventures” (advancement) as well as be introduced to new skills and most importantly have FUN! Parents do not have to come with the boys, but some adult leadership is expected from the Pack. ALL adults must have a current Youth Protection card.

When: Aug. 2 – August 4 The “summer rumble” fun begins with registration from 3:00-6:00 pm on Friday, Aug. 2. There will be some activities set up for you during the afternoon. Group gathering of all the “Sports Fans” at 7:15. Be sure to pack a picnic supper for the 2nd. Events will conclude around 12:00 pm on Sunday, August 4th.

Where: Camp Daniel Boone (We will be using the platform tents and adirondacks – both have cots)

Trading Post: We will sell Scout related items during scheduled hours.

Physical: Everyone in attendance must complete parts A & B of the Medical Form available at https://www.scouting.org/health-and-safety/ahmr/. Be sure to fill in/sign all 3 pages (include shot records and insurance card). Copies also available at the Scout Service Center in Asheville. This form is necessary for all events and is renewed every year.

Registration: Early registration includes a t-shirt (for youth) & patch (all); late registration cannot guarantee a patch or a t-shirt. Early Registration must be in the Council Office by Wednesday, July 10. Late Registration is from July 11-July 19 and must include a $15 late fee/individual. No registration accepted after July 19. Everyone registers together on the Unit Registration Form available from your Cubmaster (similar to the one we use for Cub/Parent Weekends).

2nd Webelos from same family $55
Adult Registration $35 + fee for t-shirt (optional)
Adult t-shirt fee: AM & AL & AXL = $11 2XL = $12 3XL = $13 4XL = $14

Please add $15 to each registration if late.

Sleeping bag or sheets and blankets & pillow
Class A uniform (Scout uniform shirt is worn to campfire & chapel)
T-Shirts and Shorts
Underwear
Socks
Swim Suit
Towel
Sweatshirt/Jacket
Shoes for walking/playing (and climbing wall) – no open toes
At least one pair of long pants of some type
Poncho/Raincoat
Pocket knife & Whittling Chip Card
Extra shoes (flip-flops, sandals, or “clogs” for shower use only)
Tennis shoes for creek walking – Arrow of Light scouts only
Flashlight and batteries
Toiletries (sunscreen, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, bug spray)
Water bottle with name
Camera if you wish
Webelos Book (in plastic bag to protect it)
$$$$ for Trading Post (max. $20)

***No need to bring tents as we will be using the camp tents still set up from camp.
PLEASE -- NO: electronic games of any type - cell phones, iPads, and computers don’t work well at camp.
