How to register:
On the Council Master Calendar on the Daniel Boone Council website (https://www.danielboonecouncil.org/calendar) under January 21 click on Merit Badge Midway. First read the Information page and then go to the Registration page to select available merit badges and make payment. The Midway uses the software Tentaroo, which is also used to sign up Scouts for summer camp so it might be easier for a Troop adult leader to register multiple Scouts from the Troop rather than individual Scouts or their parents having to learn the software. If an individual is having trouble there may be a Troop adult leader who can help or contact your District Executive. Only registered Scouts will be allowed to attend. Deadline for registration is January 18, 2023.
Lunch:
The café in the Alder Building is available to sit and eat lunch. However there is no food service available at Haywood Community College on Saturdays. You may order a bag lunch with your registration for $7.00. bag lunch consists of a small sub sandwich (turkey or ham), chips, pickle slice, cookie and a bottle of water. Only bag lunches ordered and paid for at registration will be available. If you do not order a bag lunch, you may bring your lunch with you. re are several fast food restaurants within driving distance but they are often busy during the noon hour.
Adult leader training:
There is no fee for adult Scout leaders to attend the Midway. Those wishing to attend the Scoutmaster/Assistant Scoutmaster Job Specific training are asked to contact Peggy Jones at peggypjones@gmail.com or 210-836-6561 so that enough materials will be on-hand. However walk-ins will be allowed on a space available basis. No registration is needed for this course.
Scoutmaster/Assistant Scoutmaster Job Specific training will be run from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon. All Scoutmasters and Assistants who have not taken this training should take advantage of this opportunity to learn about available resources. Also if it has been a while since taking this training this is an opportunity for a refresher. Other adults are welcome to attend on a space available basis.
Eagle Board of Review training will be conducted from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm. As of March 1, 2023 within the Daniel Boone Council only Scouters who have taken this new training will be allowed to sit as a member of an Eagle Board of Review. This is regardless of previous experience. All registered adults registered in the Council regardless of position who would like to be an Eagle Board Member and anyone who is interested in how Eagle Boards operate should attend. Although there will be other opportunities elsewhere in the Council, this will likely be the only such training held within the Falling Waters District before March 1st.
