BALOO (Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation)
Who: Cub Scout Leaders & Parents.
Why: Required Training for Purpose of Taking Your Unit Camping.
When: Saturday, May 17, 2008
(Check-in is from 8:00 am -8:30 am). Program starts at 8:45am-4:30 pm.)
Where: The Sheriff’s Farm (in Marble). Located in Cherokee County. *See Directions !!
Cost: $15 (This includes Sat. Lunch & Snacks & Training Materials).
You must pre-register & pay in full by Friday, May 9 by 5pm at the Service Center in Asheville.
There will be No Late Registrations ! No Exceptions !!

Learning Objectives;
1) Explain the focus of the Cub Scout level of the BSA Camping Program.
2) Demonstrate the skills & confidence necessary to plan & carry out a successful, first time Cub Scout level camping activity.
3) Describe the resources available from the BSA & other sources to carry out this activity.
4) Complete the outdoor phase of BALOO.
The target participant is the new Cub Scout Leader / Parent who has minimal camping experience but wants to plan & carry out an entry level outdoor experience for the pack. Successful completion of this training will result in increased confidence & a willingness to plan a pack campout.

Equipment Fire Safety Flag Ceremonies & Etiquette
Campfire Planning Knots & Ropes First Aid & Sanitation
Health & Safety Cub Scout Cooking Nature Hikes & Games
