Purpose
|

This purpose of this site is to inform the Scouts and Scouters of Western North Carolina of the events, interests and resources of the Daniel Boone Council, B.S.A. Courage, character, honesty, respect, and leadership are a few of the timeless values that Scouting has been teaching young people for almost 100 years. The Scouting experience prepares young people to meet various challenges, not only in times of crisis, but in everyday life.

Webelos Woods Campout set for July 31-Aug 3

Who: All Cub Scouts who are entering the 4th & 5th grade fall of 2008 (Webelos I & II)
What: Webelos Woods is a mini-camp designed to give older Cub Scouts in the Webelos Program the opportunity to spend some time at summer camp in preparation for becoming Boy Scouts. Scouts will participate in Archery, BB Gun Shooting, Crafts, Nature Activities, Sports, Aquatic Activities, Cooking, a Campfire program and some special treats. Opportunities to fulfill requirements toward the Arrow of Light, Belt Loops, and assorted Activity Pins. Parents do not have to come with the boys, but if a Pack is sending more than 3 boys some adult leadership is expected.

Venturing Announces 10th Anniversary Photo Contest

ENTER OUR “VENTURING 10TH ANNIVERSARY”
PHOTO CONTEST
What images do you think best reflect the essence of Venturing? Capture them with your camera and then enter your favorite photographs in the “Venturing 10th Anniversary” photo contest.
The contest is open to all registered youth members of the Venturing program. Photos will be judged in four categories:
1. Wildlife
2. People
3. The Spirit of Venturing
4. Spirit of Patriotism
Our judges will be looking for the photographs

Philmont 2009

The 2008 Philmont Trip from the Daniel Boone Council is full and looking forward to their trip. All who attend Philmont consider it the experience of a lifetime. Now it is time to start thinking about the 2009 trip. The minimum age requirement for this trip is 14 years old (and have completed the 8th Grade) by June 20th, 2009.
